The next deconstruction is of a romantic comedy film: Crazy Stupid Love. We decided to deconstruct the trailer of a genre completely different to the one we plan to do for our trailer as we wanted to compare the similarities and differences within all the trailers and identify what aspects make a good trailer regardless of the genre.
First Still
The first still in our deconstruction shows the logo for Warner Brothers - this is an American producer of film and television entertainment. As we have seen throught the deconstuctions of our other trailers, we have found that it is extremely common to display the company that has produced or distrubited the film at the beginning of the trailer. This is used to advertise the company but also when people make judgements about the film, they will base it on who has produced the film and there history of films. For example Warner Brothers has been responsible for the Harry Potter film series and therefore people might make the assumption that the films that they produce are of a high standard and as enjoyable as previous ones.
Second Still
The second still establishes the actors, which we know from our own research is a very influential aspect when an audience is decieding to go and watcha film. Popular actors will be displayed using a close up which is what we have here: Ryan Gosling. Again people will look at his past history in films and make a decision. His facial expression implies comedy as it her looks quite humourous.
Third Still
The third still is a mid shot, of two people (two shot) having dinner. They are having a conversation shown through the commonly used shot-reverse shot, where the camera flips from one person to another the illustrate that they are communicating.
Fourth Still
This shot is a comedy shot, it shows two main characters, one is obviously naked and is in a funny position. This implies the comedy element of the film as the way the man is standing, and the other character is in front of him is funny.
Fifth Still
This still is taken from an unusual angle through a woman's legs and shows one of the main characters looking very scared but in a humorous way. This shot is very funny and shows that it is a comedy along with it could be linked to romance. Therefore this illustrates the combination of both genres.
Sixth and Seventh Still
The sixth and seventh stills show the titles within the film that are important to include in trailers. The sixth still shows 'from Warner Bros. pictures' and the next introduces the title of the film "Crazy Stupid Love" Both stills are similar to each other and the first still as they all use the same colour scheme of white writing on a black background which is very common amongst trailers: which we've discovered from doing all the deconstructions. A consistent colour scheme is also common and therefore is something we will consider.
Eight Still
The next shot combines the name of the famous actor "Emma Stone" and a shot of her within the film. She is smiling again implying the humorous and happy aspects which is common within comedies. Also by introducing famous actors taking the lead parts in this film will influence others to go and see this film.Final Still
The last shot shows one of the main characters bursting into laughter and the other character is looking quite sad which implies that he is laughing at the character on the right. We often laugh at the misfortune of others and this is a major part of comedy films. For example when someone falls over, we laugh at this: therefore this shot is used to show comedy, making us as the audience laugh.
